MAJ (R) William Henry "Pete" Stormer, age 68, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020.
A private family service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Pulley officiating. Full US Army Honors will be rendered.
He entered into this life on August 29, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Peter H. Stormer and Andrey Boughan Stormer. Pete was a born leader and aviator. He bravely served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict as a rotary wing pilot, flying countless helicopter sorties in combat and support missions. Throughout his 24 year military career, Pete had achieved the rank of Major and was a highly regarded Aviation Officer among his peers for his professionalism and commitment to his country. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Air Medal, and the Master Army Aviator Badge among many other decorations. He also received numerous Vietnam campaign ribbons and citations. Due to his many qualifications and instructor courses, Pete served a number of years in his second career at Redstone Arsenal's Aviation Test Center. Pete was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville.
Survivors include his loving and supportive wife of 44 years, Jane Smith Stormer; their children, Peter Robert (Kalina) Stormer and Jessica Stormer; granddaughter, Willa Madeline Stormer; and sister Sandra Stormer.
