Mack Ray Jerles, 84, Clarksville, passed away suddenly Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Sandy Shawhan, the Rev. Karen Barrineau, and Chaplain Tommy Jerles officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mack was born July 15, 1927 in Montgomery County, son of John M. and Hattie Walker Jerles. He was retired from Ft. Campbell Civil Service as a Post Engineer with 30 years of service. Mack was a member of St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church, past member of Masonic Lodge #761 and a current member of Palmyra Masonic Lodge #747 Free & Accepted Masons, York Rite Mason, Scottish Rite Mason, Al Menah Shrine Temple, Clarksville Shrine Club, and Ft. Campbell Shrine Club. He was Boy Scout Master of Troop 505 for 12 years and was a brick mason for over 60 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Jerles Smith Black, eight brothers, and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Helen Seay Jerles of Clarksville, children Barbara and husband Pablo Mirabal, Mickey Jerles, Doris and husband Bernhard Butcher, Mack Jerles, Jr. (Roho) and wife Cathy; grandchildren Jeffrey Todd Smith, Amy Jerles-Orton, Emily Carroll, Gregory Jerles, Jason Butcher, David Mirabal, Denise Antonio, Christopher Jerles, Steven Frazier, and Sam Gibson; great grandchildren Christian Smith, Jordan Smith, Jessica Nelson, Sawyer Ashley Dickey, Sydney Young, Caanan Orton, Josie Wright, Lauren Carroll, Garrett Carroll, Aayla Antonio, Donavan Jerles, Madison Jerles, Abigail Jerles, Roy Butcher, Jasmine Frazier, and Christopher Frazier; brother George Jerles and wife Peggy; sister Lillie Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Smith, Greg Jerles, David Mirabal, Jason Butcher, Steven Frazier, Christopher Jerles, Sam Gibson, and Sawyer Ashley Dickey. Mack's Masonic brothers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mack was a loving husband and devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
