Lucy B. Harrison, 87, of Sarasota, FL, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. SungNam Kim officiating.
Lucy was born in Clarksville on May 1, 1925, the daughter of Eaton Haynes Harrison and Berta Marshall Harrison.
Lucy graduated with a BA Degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Women's College Fraternity. During the WWII Lucy folded bandages for the Red Cross and entertained the Camp Campbell troops at U.S.O. dances.
She moved to Sarasota from Austin, TX in 1981 after retiring from her career as retail and advertising promotions executive. She was a volunteer at Sarasota County Libraries and the John & Mable Ringling Art Museum Library in Sarasota and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sarasota.
Lucy is survived by three nephews, Bill, John and Josh Harrison all of Texas; two nieces, Louise Sherrill of Colorado and Katherine Slattery of New York; three great-nephews and four great-nieces. Lucy was predeceased by siblings, William H. Harrison in 2004, Katherine H. Sherrill in 1989, and Mary C. Harrison in 1987.
