Lucy was born on April 24, 1980, in Seoul, Korea, daughter of Shanti Sheri Gonyea and Melvin H. Finn (deceased in 1987), both soldiers in the U.S. Army, stationed in Yongsan, Seoul, Korea.
Lucy spent the first four years of her life living in Yongsan. When Shanti was stationed at Fort Campbell, the family moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, where they settled down. She was an active child and did well in school. Though they were in separate grades, one grade apart, Lucy and her sister, Jackie, were inseparable. She and Jackie played softball, went to dance classes and Girl Scouts, played piano, and were in the choir at First Presbyterian Church, high school band and cheerleaders. Lucy was an amazing singer, with a 5-octave range. Working her way through college, Lucy worked at Sonic, the Cumberland Grill and the VFW, and then went on to become an insurance agent for Morford Allstate Insurance Agency.
Lucy was preceded in death by her “person,” Dominic Napolitan, who passed on December 3, 2022, only 17 days previous to her death.
Left to cherish Lucy’s life and memory is her mother, Shanti Sheri Gonyea, sister Jacklyn Gonyea, birth mother Cheri Hampton, and many beloved family members and friends.
