Louise Batson Weatherford Welch, 83, Clarksville, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Frank Walton and Forest Suddeath officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. She was born April 5, 1927 at Jordan Springs in Montgomery County, TN and was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling Sidney and Mary Elsie Ingram Batson; first husband and father of her children, Lee Grant Weatherford; second husband, Thomas Trigg Welch; sister, Elizabeth Batson Gossett Langdon; son, Paul Eugene Weatherford. Mrs. Welch was a retired nurse from Fort Campbell Hospital and previously had worked for Memorial Hospital. She received numerous awards for nursing and in the early 1960' was the Cub Scout Den Mother for Pack 525 Den 7. She was a member of Madison Street Church of Christ and the Country Women' Club of St. Bethlehem. Survivors include her sons, Phillip Lee (Dina) Weatherford, Memphis, Peter Wayne Weatherford, Clarksville; daughter, Patty Weatherford (Mike) Baker, Santa Barbara, CA; sister, Bertha Batson (Paul) Chisena, Clarksville; grandchildren, Wendy and Michael Baker, Jennifer and Phillip Eugene Weatherford; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Eugene Weatherford, Keith Wilbourn, Mark Haskins, Joey Poindexter, Ken Thompson, Ben Ross, Johnny Biggar. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Chisena, John Ransdell, Bob Welch, Edward Knox and Larry Knop.
