Louise “Mamo” Kenley passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at age 89, surrounded by her family and friends as a result of a brief illness.
At her request she will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2016, at the Hicks Cemetery, Murray, KY located off of Hicks Cemetery Road.
Louise was born December 17, 1926 in Herleen, Netherlands, to Gerard and Philippine Sleyfer Van Wees. She arrived in the United States in 1947. She was married to Robert Kenley of Sandusky Ohio.
Survivors include her children, Yoka (John) Smith, Carl (Cheryl) Kenley, Roxanne Grice, and Bianca (Mark) Herndon; Sister, Theresa McKay of Ohio; grandchildren, Katie, Kristin (Tony), Shawna, Eric, Aaron (Christy), Douglas, Weston, and Justin; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Annabella, Roman, and Benjamin; speical friend, Terry and daughter Chloe. “Mamo” was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kenley; Brothers Gerald and Peter; sister Yoka; grandson Jeremy; and her son-in-law, Thomas Grice.
She lived in many different places -- including Herleen, Netherlands, Frankfurt, Germany, Sandusky, Ohio, San Antonio, TX, Cheraw, SC., before settling in Clarksville, TN. with her daughter Bianca and her husband Mark.
Louise “Mamo” will be especially remembered for her quick wit, loving spirit, and ability to always put the needs of others especially her Grandchildren, and Great Grand Children before hers.
The family would like to thank the staff of Tennessee Quality Hospice and Clarksville Nursing and Rehab for their kindness and generous care of “Mamo”. A special thanks is given to Chaplin Garrett.
