Mrs. Lou Ann Harris Ellis, age 70 of Stewart, TN, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Lou Ann entered this life on June 12, 1946 in Elizabethton, TN, daughter to Russell and Nannie Marie Shouse Harris. Lou Ann graduated from East Detroit High School class of 1964 where she served as class valedictorian. After high school, Lou Ann graduated with honors from Olivet Nazarene University and later earned her Masters in Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. Lou Ann served as district president for the state of North Carolina Nazarene World Missionary Society for several years. Her passions in life were music where she served many years as a music minister for the Nazarene church.
Lou Ann is preceded in death by her mother, Nannie Marie Shouse Harris.
Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Rev. Charles Wayne Ellis; Sons, Wayne David Ellis (Heidi), Jason Charles Ellis (Claire); daughter, Erin Nicole Ellis Wilhelm (Robert); father, Russell Harris; sister, Marti Harris; grandchildren, Cole, Caitlin, Jeremy, Haileigh, Nate, Andrew, Sam, and Quinn.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Erin Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Daniel Medders officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nazarene Compassion Ministries through Erin Church of the Nazarene, 11 College St. Erin, TN, 37061, or at NCM.org.
