Lorene Cothran

Lorene Cothran, 88, Clarksville, died Friday, October 2, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Keith Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Smith-Austin-Wallace Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born April 17, 1921 in Stewart County, TN, daughter of William M. Harrison and Gertrude Shelby Harrison. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Red Cothran, and a brother Troy Harrison. Mrs. Cothran was a Baptist. Survivors include a son Alton Cherry of Clarksville; grandchildren Chris Cherry and Cathy Bentley, both of Clarksville; step daughters Anne Baggett of Palmyra and Barbara Jean Hymes of Russellville, KY; sisters Clorice Cherry of Stewart Co., Mable Crockett of Clarksville, Rachel Eads of Dickson, Leona Grasty of Clarksville, and Violet Gertrude Steeley of Lancaster, SC; and four great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
