Lonny N. Allison, Sr., age 77, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Geoffrey Sikes and Pat Allison officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
The Allison family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Lonny entered into this life on July 28, 1939 in Dover, Tennessee to parents Alfred Lynn Allison and Helen Scarborough Allison. Lonny was a member of Clarksville High School's Class of 1958 and Austin Peay's Class of 1963. He went on to work in the Insurance business and owned Allison Agencies for some 40 years. He was also a former President of Life Underwriters. Lonny was active in the Clarksville community as he was a member of the Jaycee's, past President of the Queen City Lion's Club, and enjoyed coaching Little League Football. Also, he was a 70 year member of the Trenton Crossing Church of Christ (formerly Madison St. Church of Christ) where he was a Sunday School teacher and active in the World Bible School Ministry. Lonny was a huge fan of UT football and Kentucky basketball and enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, and camping with his oldest grandson and brothers.
Survivors include his faithful wife of 56 years, Donna S. Allison; loving children, Neal Allison, Jr. (Annette), Van Allison, Amy Ong (Michael); grandchildren, Courtney Crawford (Sterling), Brian Allison, Morgan Ong, Michaela Ong, and Matthew Ong; and siblings, Larry Allison (Carol), Pat Allison (Barbara), Lynnette Wood-Meyer (Ed), and Elizabeth Hale (Russ).
Pallbearers will be Matthew Ong, Brian Allison, Chase L. Daniel, Trey Daniel, John Allison, Sterling Crawford, Conner Daniel, Michaela Ong, and Cara Daniel. Honorary pallbearers will be Blakey Bradley, Sheldon Baugh, Dr. Harold Vann, and Phil Coleman.
