Lola Belle Foster Batson passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 16, 2017. She was blessed with 102 years of life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Shocklee officiating. Burial will follow in the Foster-Schmittou Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 noon until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Lola entered into this life on November 18, 1914 in Dickson, Tennessee to Perry and Hester Foster. Lola was retired from a career with the Montgomery County School System and took much pleasure in enriching the minds of the children for some 50 years. She received her teaching credentials from APSU and subsequently graduated from there. Additionally, she received the Tennessee Governor's Award for longevity in teaching and loved gardening, sports, and especially family. Lola was a member of the Church of Christ at Trenton Crossing (formerly Madison St. Church of Christ).
In addition to her parents, Lola was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Banks Batson. She is survived by her children, David (Joan) Batson, Phillip (Brenda) Batson, Nancy Batson Mangold, and Stephen Batson; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, and Jennifer Mangold; Brett and Ryan Batson, and Lance Batson; step granddaughter, Erica Batten; sister-in-law, Henrietta Foster; four great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
