Lloyd Franklin Travis, 84, died peacefully in Hendersonville, TN on July 3, 2017 from complications with his long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on December 30, 1932 in Tennessee Ridge, TN, Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Dennie and Lillian Soderberg Travis; five of his brothers, Raymond, Shelby, Virgil, Kenneth, and Weldon (Buddy); and his sister, Florence Gibson. He is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Minnie Ruth McAskill Travis; his two children, Janet Crafton (Jim) of Goodlettsville, TN and David of Brentwood, TN; his two grandsons, Travis and Bradley Crafton; his brother, Harlan; and his sister Vivian Daniel. He proudly served his country in the Navy from January 1952 to December 1955 and will be remembered for his gentle, caring nature as a loyal friend, devoted husband, and compassionate father and grandfather. A graveside service is planned for 2:00 pm July 6, 2017 at McIntosh Cemetery in Tennessee Ridge, TN. Visitation will occur at Nave Funeral Home, located at 4639 West Main Street, Erin, TN 37061, at 11:00 a.m. the day of the service.
