Lloyd Newman

Lloyd Ray Newman, 59, Cumberland Furnace, died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Slayden Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 10, 1951 in Dickson County, TN, son of Franklin (Jack) Newman and Joanna Shelton Newman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Buddy Newman. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife Jo Ann Motes Newman; daughters Laranda (Markis) Williams and Amber Newman; son Shane (Amanda) Newman; step children Ernie Hummer, Jeff Hummer, and Shawn Hummer; brothers Billy Newman and J.T. Newman; sisters Elizabeth Harris and Mattie Ann Sykes; grandchildren Jordin Newman, Austin Williams, Seth Guerrero, Karissa Guerrero, and Gavin Hagewood; and step grandchild Holly Shelton. Pallbearers will be James Motes, Terry Harris, Timmy Newman, Tommy Newman, Danny Mull, and Steve Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Morton Mechanical.
