Mrs. Lillie Mae Quarles was born April 18, 1941 to Oscar and Margaret Eldridge in Montgomery County, TN and was the eldest of eight children. She gained her Heavenly wings February 22, 2022 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.
Lillie married the late Richard Quarles in January 1965 and of that union had two children, John and Jacqueline. She worked as an anesthesia tech at Memorial Hospital in Clarksville, TN for 33 1/2 years and retired in 1994. She faithfully attended St. Paul AME Church in Oakwood, TN for several years before joining First Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN.
Lillie enjoyed many hobbies to include planting flowers, traveling, spending time with family and friends, supporting her community and shopping. She was a blessing to everyone she met and never met a stranger. She was a member of several clubs to include the Golden Girls, Senior Circle, AARP, Relay for Life and Meals on Wheels.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Richard Quarles, parents Oscar and Margaret Eldridge, brothers Oscar Eldridge Jr. and Lewis Eldridge.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son John Quarles (Atavea), daughter Jacqueline Minor (late Robert Minor Jr.) stepson Richard Quarles Sr., godson Kevin Gasway, brothers Leon Eldridge (Pam), James Eldridge (Kim), sisters Oretha Browder (Paul), Jeanette Cannon, Melinda Burney (Billy), brother-in-law George Quarles (Dessie), sister-in-love Gloria Eldridge, grandsons DeAndre Quarles (Tonya), Marcus Minor (Susan), Richard Quarles Jr., granddaughters Jasmine Ballard, Jasmine Hart, Chanel Littleton (Morgan), Diamond McArthur, best friend Dorothy Sanders and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Lillie's family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022 (with the family present after 5 p.m.) at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 301 Fairview Lane, Clarksville, TN 37040.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at First Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
