Lexington Austin Gaines

Born on November 3, 2000, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Lexington Austin Gaines, who is a beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away on March 23, 2025. Lexington brought joy and warmth into the lives of those who knew him as a trustworthy and gentle role model, leaving behind an indelible mark on his family and friends. Lexington was known for his generosity, friendliness to everyone, and consideration for his loved ones.

A graduate of West Creek High School, Lexington was a proud member of the Class of 2019. During his high school years, he not only excelled academically, but also showcased his talents on the tennis court and as an accomplished pianist. His youthful enthusiasm and dedication to both sports, school activities, and music were evident to all who knew him. As a fun-loving kid, Lexington was adored by his classmates, school administration, and was a true friend to many people enjoying formative and treasured relationships.

Lexington was pursuing a career within the U.S. Army. He began his journey at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. His commitment led him to the Armed Forces Language Defense Institute in Monterey, California, where his academic excellence brought him to become fluent in Korean and achievement on making the Dean’s List. As a Specialist, he graduated with his diploma in Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center at Korean Peninsula School. And later, stationed at Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Arizona, where he was transitioning out of the Army.

Lexington’s light will be profoundly missed by his family. He is survived by his beloved mother, Lisa Gaines, and his cherished siblings: Lakin Breaux, Lizbeth Haley, Leighton Gaines, Leah Gaines, DeChaun Gaines, and Brandon Honore. He held a special place in his heart for his niece and nephews, Colstyn Winters, Elias Holloway, Mykah Guillory, Mykul Guillory, and Myken Guillory. He was predeceased by his father, Sean Gaines, and his sister, Lacey Pappillion.

A visitation beginning at 10:00 AM and Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM will be held in his honor on April 3, 2025, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville, Tennessee. The services will conclude with the rendering of military honors. Friends and family are invited to gather and remember Lexington’s spirit, sharing stories of laughter, music, and love, as they celebrate the life of a truly extraordinary individual
