Lewis Rives

Lewis Gene Rives, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunnyview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Lewis was born in Montgomery County, TN on February 6, 1937, to the late Elva Brake Rives and Florence Mae Reynolds Rives. Mr. Rives was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War, and retired from many years in the construction industry.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Ann Emmett Rives; his brothers, Alfred Brake Rives, Jerry Wayne Rives, Sr., and Edgar D. Rives, and sister, Marie Fairweather.

Survivors include his daughters, Karen Sue (James) Walton, and Donna Jean (Joe) Kindle; grandchildren, Kristy, Steven, Trisha, Joey, Christopher, and Brittany, ten great-grandchildren; siblings, William A. Rives and Brenda A. Rives Harris. Lewis also leaves behind his beloved K-9 companion, Skip.

Pallbearers will be Joey, Christopher, Ron, Mike, Payne and Ronnie .
