Leonard L. Smith, 70, Clarksville, died Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Madison Street Church of Christ with Bro. Geoffery Sikes officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
He was born January 27, 1938 in Fresno, CA, son of Brice Smith and Mary Esther Smith Trice. His parents preceded him in death. Leonard was a member of Madison St. Church of Christ, a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, a U.S. Army veteran, and a valued member of the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home staff.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Wallace Smith of Clarksville; sons Keith Smith of Nashville, Kyle (Trina) Smith of Madison, MS, Kirby Smith of Raleigh, NC; daughter Kelly (Dave) Akin of Nashville; grandchildren Drew, Drake, and Demi Akin and Nathan, Nick, and Ashlyn Smith; twin brother Lee Smith of Fresno, CA; sisters Judy Clark of Concord, CA, Kathleen Barnes of Burbank, CA, and Cordelia Burke of Long Beach, CA.
Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to T.B. Larimore Home Restoration Fund, c/o Mars Hill Bible School, 698 Cox Creek Pkwy., Florence, AL 35630.
