Leonard Warren Ferrell, 63, of Erin, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at his home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at Gum Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Winegardner officiating. Burial will follow in Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the church.
Leonard was born July 23, 1948 in Cunningham, TN, son of Oscar Brown and Helen (Scott) Ferrell. He was a Machinist by trade and was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Bernice Opal Ferrell.
Survivors include his wife Cynthia Shannon Ferrell of Erin, son Andrew Warren Ferrell (Adeana Bresette) of Erin, daughters Tina Marie Ferrell (Marty Bryant) of Cunningham, Sandra Ann Ferrell Hoard (Michael) of Erin, and Patricia Gail Ferrell Hodges (Billy) of Cumberland Furnace, sisters Howard and Cheryl Capps and James and Reva Tyler, both of Cumberland Furnace, brother-in-law Duane Shannon (Laura) of Chatsworth, IL, sister-in-law Donna Baker (Chadd) of Seneca, IL, and grandchildren Tabitha and Mason Bryant, John, Harley, and Rebecah Hoard, Brandon and Amanda Hodges, and Joseph, Jacob, Emily, and Jack Ferrell.
Pallbearers will be Jason Capps, Andrew Ferrell, Brandon Hodges, Mason Bryant, John Tyler, Duane Shannon, and Richard Smith.
