Leon Elton Wilson, 74, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at his residence.
A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church with the Revs. Bryan Baggett and Bob Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville, KY.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the Friday at Bible Baptist Church.
He was born November 25, 1942 in Paducah, KY and was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Elton and Rachel Dean Courtney Wilson; and his brother, Galen Wilson.
Leon was a member of Bible Baptist Church where he served as song leader and also taught Sunday school for over 54 years. He was a retired CPA of over 45 years, a graduate of Austin Peay State University with a masters degree, member of Civitan Club and a honorary member of the National CPA Society.
He is survived by his wife, Bettye Killebrew Wilson; sons, Mike (Jackie) Wilson, Keith (Elysia) Wilson; brother, Donnie Wilson; grandchildren, Nicole Dempsey, Aaron Wilson, Justin Wilson, Austin Wilson; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marshal Stevenson, Scott Denny, Brant Parchman, Ronnie Boyd, Tim Skinner, Seth Armstrong, Dan Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers will be David Newberry, Dr. Dave Johnson, Ken Armstrong, Paul Wrenn, Lonnie Perigo and Mark Davenport.
