Leon B. Moore Jr., age 90 of Indian Mound, passed away on July 12, 2015 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Dunnaway officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday.
Leon was born on July 6, 1925 in North Carolina to the late Leon B. Moore Sr. and Ellie Irene Minton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Louise Stephens Moore. He worked for years for Collins Music Store and was a WWII Navy Veteran whose station was on USS Hamilton. Leon was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Leon is survived by his wife, Nola Pennington Moore; son, Richard Earl (Lin) Moore of Nashville; daughter, Mary Moore Sueiro of Clarksville; brother, Gene Moore of Savannah, TN; sister, Dot Harrington of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Michael William Neblett, Kimberly Marie Neblett, and Rachel Moore; step-grandchild, Jason Phipps and step-great-grandchild, Katie Phipps.
Pallbearers will be Michael Neblett, Jason Phipps, Kodie Hensley, Sam Winn, Steve Ferrin, and Ricky Kirkland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 2904 Highway 79, Indian Mound, TN 37079.
