Leon Alonzo Eldridge, Sr., age 77, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the St. Paul A.M.E. Church with Sister Gloria Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Sidney Cemetery.
Leon's family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 28 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the St. Paul A.M.E. Church
Leon entered into this life on October 3, 1945 in Montgomery County to parents Oscar Eldridge Sr. and Margaret Gray Eldridge. Leon was retired from a career in the steel mill industry.
In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Walton Eldridge, and siblings, Lillie Quarles, Oscar Eldridge, Jr., and Lewis Eldridge.
Survivors include the love of his life for over 30 years, Pandora Mills; sons, Leon Eldridge, Jr. and Donnie Palm; grandchildren, Tylin Eldridge, Briia Eldridge, Destiney Palm, and Desiree Palm; and his great-grandchild, Braydon Alexander. Also, Leon leaves behind siblings, Oretha Browder (Paul), Jeanette Cannon, James Eldridge, and Melinda Burney.
Pallbearers will be James Hite, Jr., Milton Hite, Gus Eldridge, Lloyd Eldridge, Dennis Williams, Jerome Griffey, Shawn White, Detrick Eldridge, and John Quarles. Floral bearers will be Lolena Stacker, Shena Bills, Tamatha Smith, Casandra Eldridge, Janet Choate, and Jackie Quarles Minor.
