Lela Marie Traughber, 85, Palmyra, went to be with Jesus Friday, September 24, 2010, at Kindred Hospital, Nashville. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Wint officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 12 noon until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Lela was born November 20, 1924 in Clovis, New Mexico, daughter of Walter and Addie Perkins Simpson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Matthew Bennie Traughber and her brothers J.W., Leslie, George, and Virgil Simpson. She worked at Mooore Elementary School in Clarksville as a Teacher's Aide and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include her sons Benny (Joanne) Traughber of Palmyra and Sam (Lindy) Traughber; daughters Sharon Osborn of Lewistown, PA and Debbie (Bob) Mezei of Cumberland Furnace; grandchildren Joei (John) Gallo, Bobbie Marie Mezei, Dannie (Ed) Harris, Sandy Fellows, Shelby Wagoner, Sheldon Jr. Romig, Shawn Romig, Roger (Stephanie) Phillips, Jessica (Zach) Phillips, John (Liza) Larkin, and Jeni (Shane) Huntsman; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Samuel W. Traughber; and sister-in-law June Traughber. Pallbearers will be Mike Brown, Al Allen, Jerry Luffman, Lonnie Terry, David Cook, and Dave Cook.
