Lela Broome

Lela M. Broome, 97, Clarksville, died Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Broome Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 till 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 till service Wednesday at funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Broome was born in Somerset, Kentucky, August 9, 1911, the daughter of Chester and Haddie Beaucook Compton. She was retired from Ford Motor Co. and a member of First Baptist Church, Wayne, MI. Mrs. Broome was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Broome. She is survived by one son, Robert Broome,Clarksville, one daughter, Alice Wagoner, Hoopston,IL., one brother, Wilford Compton, Hoopston, Il. one sister, Christene Hill, Texas, six grandchildren, eighteen great- grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Urbanowski, Tommy Broome, Herbert Broome, Jeff Broome, Marcus Reese, Rick Kelley, Clifford Broome and Tony Kelley.
