Leila Margaret Heer, age 78 of Clarksville, TN, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at Northcrest Medical Center.
She and her husband John owned and operated Clarksville Moving & Storage for 25 yrs., and she later retired from Sears. She was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church for 31 yrs., and enjoyed working in her yard and attending to her flower gardens.
Margaret was born in Clarksville, TN on January 24, 1937 to the late Norman G. Slate and Mary Moore Slate. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert G. Slate.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Heer; daughter, Peggy (Edwin) Oglesby; son, Robert (Judy) Heer; daughter, Linda Bracey; daughter, Debbie (Jeff) Newman; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Dwight (Barbara) Slate; sister, Jean (Floyd) Woodall; sister, Grace Larson (Jim); and sister, Norma Sue Weber.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 11th at 2 p.m., at Mt. Carmel Church, with Rev. James Sanders. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Church, 7109 Hwy. 25, Cross Plains, TN 37049; or Hilldale Baptist Church, 2001 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37043.
