Laverne "Penny" Russell

Emma Laverne “Penny” Russell, 83 of Clarksville, TN passed away on August 24, 2022.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Old Lone Oak Church Louise Road with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow at Nesbitt Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and on Saturday from 12 p.m. until the hour of the service at the Church.

Penny was born on March 31, 1939, daughter of the late Jake and Rebecca McWhorter. She was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Co-Owner of McWhorter Lumber Company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nolen Russell; sister, Louise Parker; brothers, Tom, Clyde, and Donnie McWhorter.

Survivors include her daughter, Ruth (Rocke) Nunn; sons, Glen (Ellen) Russell, and Tim Russell; sisters, Jean Thomas and Carolyn (Jerry) Ellis; grandchildren, Leah Arrigo, Laura Russell, Jake Russell, Daniel Nunn, and Diane Bachi; great-grandchildren, Leann Dearth, Kevin Nunn, Brady Nunn, Julia Bachi, and J.P. Bachi; and special friend, Bill Wall.

Pallbearers will be, David Thomas, Jake Russell, Michael Howard, Joe Bachi, David Self and Kevin Nunn.
