Laurel Hoard

Laurel Hodges Hoard, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2024, at Gum Springs Baptist Church with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow at Ferrell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Laurel entered this life on November 30, 1952, in Dickson, TN to the late Clarence and Pearl Hutchison Hodges. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Laurel enjoyed knitting and sewing, as well as spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Hoard, Sr., and her son, Ricky Hoard, Jr.

Survivors include her son, Michael J. Hoard (Sandra), and grandchildren, John Michael Hoard, Harley Ann Hoard, and Rebecah Opal Coakley "Opie"; great-grandchildren, Wrenley Ray, Preston Hoard, and Blakleigh Hoard; siblings, Billy Hodges, David Hodges, and Media Hayes.

Pallbearers will be John Hoard, Preston Hoard, Joey Lake, Matt Ray, Hunter Coakley, and Eric Hayes.
