Laura Diane Perry, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 while surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, August 8th at Hilldale United Methodist Church with the Rev. B.J. Brack officiating.
Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 7th at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
Laura entered into this life on August 28, 1934 in Lewiston, Maine, daughter to the late Cedric and Florence Day Simpson. As a child, Laura participated in the USO tour, dancing, entertaining, and boosting the morale of war-weary soldiers during WWII. She was a choir member of Peace Presbyterian Church in Stuart, Florida and currently attended Hilldale United Methodist Church. Laura was a devoted mother and dedicated military wife. Additionally, she was an avid tennis player, enjoyed golfing, and volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program as well as mission works with her church.
Laura was predeceased by her son, Cedric Perry. Survivors include the father of her children, Colonel Ronald Perry (US Army, Ret.); her sons, Jeffery Perry (Joan), Michael Perry, Stephen Perry, and Scott Johns; daughters, Laurie Hadley (Wade), Carol Armistead (James); siblings, Michael Simpson (Cathy) and Marilyn Hight (Bob). She was the loving grandmother of Lisa, Laura, Brian, Wade, Sarah, Sandy, Cedric, and Samantha as well as eight great grandchildren.
