Larry Shelby

Larry Shelby joined God in Heaven on August 31, 2014 to help watch over us as he had always done here on Earth. Larry was born March 9rd 1946 in a small home in Woodlawn, Tn to a loving family – Edward & Alberta Shelby, who were waiting for him at the gates of Heaven, and brother Wayne Shelby and sister Nancy Norfleet who are both left here to celebrate his life. Larry served the Lord as a messenger of God's word for over 25 years touching many souls and changing many lives. In 1985, Larry was diagnosed with Parkinson's and took this on the way he felt God wanted him to: with acceptance and strength.
Larry is celebrated here on Earth by his wife, Martha, son, John Shelby, daughter & son-in-law, Cheryl & Paul Hamel, his brother & sister-in-law, Wayne & Virginia Shelby, his sister, Nancy Norfleet, granddaughters, Abby & Mady Shelby and Sarah Hamel, grandsons, Alex & Will Hamel, nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Visitation/celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Dotsonville Church of Christ in Woodlawn, Tn with funeral services starting at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please carry on Larry's legacy by donating to your church with a prayer in his name or to the Vanderbilt Hospital Research at http://www.vanderbilthealth.com/giving/28439.
