Larry Laxton - 1947 Larry Donald Laxton, 62, Tennessee Ridge, died Friday, July 3,2009, at Patient's Choice Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2:00pm Monday at Nave Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Christian, Sis. Faye Winstead and Bro.Jerry Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Barnes Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30pm till 8pm Sunday and from 8am till service Monday at the funeral home. Nave Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 8,1947 in son of the late Joe Laxton and Hazel Barnes Laxton. He is a member of Patterson Chapel Church. He became a City Councilmen in 1989, He was a Tennessee Ridge City Manager from Sept. 1993 to April 2009. He was on the Tennessee Ridge Volunteer Fire Dept sense 1975. He was a reserve officer for Houston County sheriff's Dept., and Tennessee Ridge City Police.He was also a shift Coordinator for 33 years at TVA. Survivors include his mother Hazel Laxton of Tn.Ridge,Tn. wife Judy Laxton of Tn.Ridge,Tn.one daughter Kim Phillips of Tenn. Ridge, Tn. three brothers David Laxton of Erin, Tn. Cary Laxton of Tenn. Ridge, Tn. William Laxton of Erin, Tn. five sisters Freda Faye Dennis of Tenn. Ridge, Tn. Nancy Cobb of Tenn. Ridge, Tn. Karen Henson of Tenn. Ridge, Tn. Lisa Smith of Erin, Tn. Melissa Mayes of Dickson, Tn. and two grandchildren Jessica Parker and Halee Phillips. Pallbearers will be Larry Bryant, Jerry Bryant, Kenneth Dunavant, Stony Odom, Darrell Allison,and Dean Harrison.
