Larry Duane Burrows, age 79, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018. After graduating from Fort Hays State University in Kansas, he began working for Lockheed Martin. His career in aeronautics spanned the early Apollo missions and throughout the Space Shuttle program, with the majority of his career devoted to the development and implementation of the external tank program in New Orleans, Louisiana, until his retirement. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve and volunteered as a fire fighter in Pearlington, Mississippi, where he settled and lived for over forty years. In addition to being a devoted father and grandfather, he was an avid sports fan. He especially loved supporting the New Orleans Saints and the Tulane baseball team. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Crystal Marcum Burrows; daughters Jennifer McNamara (Mark) and Bethany Kelly (Bryon); brother, Adrian Burrows (Sharon); sister, Sandra Lebsack (Rich); and sister-in-law, Eldene. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Viola Burrows, and brother Dale. He was also the very proud grandfather of Aidan and Reeve McNamara and Lauren and Vanessa Kelly.
