Laifeta Solomona, age 76 of Sa’asaai, Savai’i, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Tennova Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2021 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Faatoia Tufele officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sango Cemetery.
Laifeta entered this life on January 24, 1945, in Sa’asaai, Savai’i to the late Lapiki Tuigamala and Ma’inifo Va’afusuaga. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with family. Laifeta especially loved playing with her many grandchildren and sharing laughs with friends over her beloved game of bingo.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by husband, Peteru (Ioka) Solomona; siblings, Tui Va’afusuaga and Saulo Va’afusuaga.
She is survived by siblings, Vaituloto Punavale, Fiapapalagi Samu, Tapu Se’emanu, and Tali Taua. Children: To’oto’o (Stokey) Ma’inifo, Peteru (Pete) Solomona, Ta’avili (Jimmy) Ioka, Peniamina (Ben) Ioka, Rosalina (Mekala) Ioka, Linda Solomona-Douglass, Filo Solomona, Falani Solomona, and Esa (Emele) Solomona; 26 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Peteru Solomona, Ken Douglass, William Embler, Robert Young Jr., Michael Ma’inifo, John Solomona, William Douglass, and Joseph Solomona.
