LaDean Cogar

LaDean Lee Cogar, age 78, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023, at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery. LaDean’s family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.

LaDean entered into this life on April 29, 1945, in Athens, Ohio to the late Doc and Meta Slusher Lawson. She lovingly provided and prepared the home for her family and was the wife of the late SSG James Franklin Cogar (US Army, Ret). Crocheting, coloring, and tending her hummingbird visitors were some of her favorite things to do. She also adored time spent with all her grandbabies.

Survivors include her children, James Cogar (Petra), Kim Smith, and Shan Bowen (Wade); sister, Lorie Lawson; grandkids, Cameron, Zach, Eliza, and Cheyanne, and great-grandkids, SJ, Will, Kimmy, Aydan, Camden, Kane, Jason, Katie, Little Bruce, Honesty, and one more on the way.
