Kitten Parker

Kitten R. Parker, age 77 of Clarksville, went home to be with her Savior and Lord at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 1, 2015.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. James Shepherd, Rev. Cal Hampton, and Rev. Jimmy Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday at the church.
Kitten was born on April 15, 1937 in Ashland City, TN to the late Luther and Maude Reding. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Joedee Parker; sister, Nell Seratt, brother, Toby Reding; great-grandson, Bruen Chappell.
Kitten was an APSU graduate earning her B.S. in nursing. She worked as a RN at Baptist and Memorial Hospitals, Clarksville Home Health Care, and director of nursing for Clarksville Nursing Home. Kitten was a ballroom dance instructor for years teaching many students the love of dance. A member of First Baptist Church, Kitten taught a Sunday School class for many years sharing her love for Jesus and prophecy. She was also the loving caregiver to those that preceded her in death, caring for her daughter with such devotion for 22 years.
Kitten is survived by her husband of 58 years, Zoot Parker; daughters, Kala (Randy) Stone of Clarksville, Brittnye Parker of Jupiter, FL; son, Jaye (Keali) Parker of Jupiter, FL; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Bettye Binkley; sister-in-laws, Sue Albertia and Jean Stephenson; brother-in-law, Rick Harris; niece, Tobi Howell Travis.
Pallbearers will be Brick Stone, Barkley Stone, Richard Platz, Josh Chappell, Josh Ginn, Jay Albertia, George Ketch, and Brian Miles.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Zoot and Kitten’s Sunday School class.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.
