Kim Ashley Averitt, 56, Gatlinburg, died Thursday, July 10,2008, at Alive Hospice. The funeral will be held at 2pm Sunday at Nave Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.Cordell Smith officiating. Burial will be in McIntosh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30pm till 8pm Saturday and from 8am till service Sunday at the funeral home. Nave Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his Mother Myrtle Averitt,Phil and Becky Averitt brother and sister in law and Brad Averitt nephew all of Erin,Tn.Leeza Averitt Osborne (Dewayne) nephew and neice of Mt.Juliet and Jim Gentry,best friend of Gatlinburg.Mr.Averitt was preceded in death by his father J.V.Averitt. A graduate of UT Knoxville and School for International Studies in Brattleborg,Vt.Mr Averitt spent a year in India,after graduate school where he worked in a rural community development project.Other travels included England,Russia, Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands.With a career in travel management,Mr.Averitt had worked for Thomas Cook and Council Travel where he was recognized in 2000 as southeast travel manager of the year.For the past five years Mr.Averitt owned and operated a farm-themed shop in the Gattinburg arts and crafts community. Pallbearers will be Brad Averitt, Monty Joe Allsbrooks, Steve Shores, David Patterson, Cass Rye, Jim Gentry, Ed Wagner, Don Stedmon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to "Alive Hospice"in Nashville or the Hope Center in Knoxville.
