Kenny Dowdy, Jr., age 80, of Clarksville, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Clarksville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Carolyn Nobling officiating. Burial will follow at Sango Cemetery.
The Dowdy family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Kenny entered into this life on February 8, 1938 in Montgomery County, TN son of the late Luther K. and Clara Dowdy, Sr. Kenny was a Veteran of the United States Army. After twenty three years of employment, Kenny retired from Frosty Morn. Upon retirement he went on to work another twenty three years, and retired from Trane Company. Kenny was also a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Haley Dowdy; sons, Mike (LaDonna) Dowdy, and Patrick Dowdy; brothers, Thomas (Jan) Dowdy, and Donald (Cindi) Dowdy; sister, Gail (Don) Griffey; granddaughter, Michaela Dowdy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Fuel Program. 909 Madison Street Clarksville, TN 37043.
The Dowdy family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers at Clarksville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, along with Aseracare Hospice.
