J.w. Nation

October 21, 1925 — August 1, 2008

J.W. Nation, 82, Clarksville, died Friday, August 1, 2008, at Skyline Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hilldale Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Robertson and Rev. Terry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.
He was born October 21, 1925 in Altus, OK, son of J.L. Nation and Lou Ella Thomas Nation. Mr. Nation retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service, was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, retired from Sears where he worked in the Service Department, and was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church where he was a past deacon and a member of the Doyle Moore Sunday School Class.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Nation, and a sister, Vera Hudgens. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Tanner Nation of Clarksville; son Karl (Laurie) Nation of Manchester, TN; daughter Alyssa (Steve) Goins of Mt. Juliet, TN; brothers Junior (Jo) Nation of Lawton, OK; sisters Trula (Charles) Kastner and Margie (Dwight) Watson, both of Altus, OK; brother-in-law Bill Hudgens of Altus, OK; sister-in-law Marilyn Nation of Fredrick, OK; and ten grandchildren.
Members of his Sunday School class will serve as pallbearers at the church and the military honor guard will serve at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Family Life Center of Hilldale Baptist Church, 2001 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37043.
