Merry June Fain Fowler went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 10, 2013 at her home in Clarksville surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harriet Bryan-Harris officiating. Burial will be at the Salem UMC Cemetery.
June was born November 14, 1932 in Clarksville, Tennessee, daughter of the late W.R. and Merry June Hill Fain. She was a graduate of Clarksville High School Class of 1948 and then went on to graduate from Austin Peay and Central Piedmont Community College with an Associate's Degree in Secretarial Science. She retired from American Bakeries as an executive secretary and was a member of the American Association of Professional Secretaries. June was retired in good standing with the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a faithful member of Salem UMC and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Thornton Fowler, Sr., her children, Merry June Fowler Etling (Harold) and James (Jay) Thornton Fowler, Jr. (Beth), her grandchildren, William Jamin Etling, James Isaac Etling (LeAnn) and Aren Eckstein, her great grandchildren, Charity Faith Etling and Caleb James Etling, and her sister, Melinda Fain.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church.
