Judith Taylor Morrison was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 12, 1941, the only daughter of Floyd Taylor & Annie Mae Mangrem Taylor. She was raised in Copperas Cove Texas. It was there she met & married Howell Morrison, who was stationed at Ft Hood Army Base. They soon moved to his hometown of Clarksville. They were married 56 years until his death in 2014. They had 6 children and many neighborhood children & church children that looked up to them as their second parents. Judy was a homemaker & enjoyed cooking, baking & sewing. She made numerous wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses & prom dresses. She was known all over the county for her yeast bread & cinnamon rolls. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she served in numerous ways. One of her favorites was teaching women’s Sunday School classes. She sang in various local Southern gospel groups and loved to sing with her family.
In the early 80s her claim to fame was her southern gospel song writing, especially the song ‘Child, Child’ which was recorded by The Kingsmen Quartet & nominated for song of the year. When asked about how many songs she had written, she said she lost count after 2000 songs. Judy loved to read & enjoyed studying her Bible. Many people down through the years came to her for advice in spiritual matters, cooking & child rearing. She loved bright colors & sparkly clothes & jewelry. She was a friend to many & was full of smiles most of the time. In her older years she worked at Montgomery Central Elementary School as an aide and was lovingly called Grandma Judy by numerous children.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Finis Howell Morrison; oldest daughter, Amy Morrison Fry (Al); and brother, Milburn (Nelda) Taylor.

She leaves behind 5 children: Curtis Morrison, Leah  Sidell & Lana (Dewayne) Patterson all of Clarksville, Allen (Rolanda) Morrison of Dover, and Glee Morrison of Inverness Florida; brother, FA (Louella) Taylor of Copperas Cove Texas, sisters-in-law, Sharon York & Jane Morrison of Clarksville; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and three on the way. Judy also leaves behind several dear friends that have been special to her for 50+ years.
