Juanita Mitchell

Juanita Jean Barnes Mitchell, age 94 of Tennessee Ridge, TN, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Signature Healthcare of Erin.
She was born August 6, 1927 on Hurricane Creek to Finis Ewing Barnes and Lillie Kimbro Barnes. Juanita was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Erin. She retired from being a CNA at the age of 69 after 22 ½ years of service. Juanita was well known for her Beautiful Handmade Quilts and Blackberry Jelly she would give to family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. noon at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Jay Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at the Lowery Cemetery in Cumberland City with Bro. Mike Doney officiating.
The Mitchell family will receive friends on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday afternoon.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Mitchell, and son, Nelson Ray Mitchell.
Survivors include her loving children, Walter Patrick Mitchell (Detta), Norma Jean Howell, Vernual D. Mitchell (Jackie) and Ernest L. Mitchell (Kathy). Juanita also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Angela Keeler (Chip), Melodie Swanson (Kevin), Kristy Veliz (Leo), Bryan Mitchell (Jenny), Shannon Mitchell (Teresa), Jonathan Ray Mitchell (Mandy), Tad Howell (Donna), Christopher Mitchell (Jennifer), Heather Mitchell; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
