Joshua Bryant Beck, a devoted patriot, outstanding law enforcement officer, and beloved member of the community, passed away on July 29, 2024. He was 35 years old.
Celebration of Life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Lone Oak Baptist Church with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial and United States Marine Corps Honors will follow at Ryes Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Lone Oak Baptist Church and again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
Born on December 27, 1988, in Clarksville, TN to Billy and Mary Jo Beck, Josh lived a life filled with valor and service to his country. Josh's educational journey was marked by dedication and excellence. He graduated from Montgomery Central High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, where he served with unwavering loyalty. In 2019, Josh achieved another milestone as he graduated from the East Tennessee Regional Law Enforcement Academy at Walters State Community College. His time at the academy was distinguished by his selection as class president and the recipient of both the Best Athlete Award and the prestigious Dr. Wade B. McCamey Leadership Award. With a passion for serving his community, Josh served as an active Deputy for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. His commitment to upholding justice and ensuring the safety of his fellow citizens was commendable. Previously, he had served as a Patrol Deputy and had most recently excelled in the Warrants Division. Beyond his professional achievements, Josh will be remembered for his warm and loving personality. He cherished his role as a son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Josh found immense joy in coaching his son on the baseball field and being a supportive presence in the lives of his nieces and nephew.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Case Beck; wife, Morgan Beck; brothers, James (Heather) Beck, and Jesse Beck; paternal grandparents, Brenda Hall, Samuel Hall, Tom Beck, and Delores Beck; maternal grandmother, Mary Kennedy; nieces, Savanna and Sis; nephew, Brentley, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Kennedy.
Pallbearers will be James Beck, Jesse Beck, Kevin McKinney, Ryan Wright, Adam Beissmann, and Joe Morra.
