Joseph "Joe" Meacham

Joseph Chilton “Joe” Meacham, age 87 of Erin, TN, passed away September 25, 2023 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Medders officiating. Burial will follow in Alsobrooks Cemetery.

The Meacham family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 8:00 a.m. until the hour of service Friday morning at the funeral home.

Joe entered this life on January 30, 1936 in Erin, TN, son to the late William Henry Meacham and Mary Jarman Meacham.  Upon graduating from Houston County High School, Joe received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Joe had a fruitful career as an educator and coach and would eventually retire in 1996 after 38 years of service. In retirement, Joe spent his time on the water as he was a passionate bass fisherman. He belonged to the Twin Lakes Bass Club and was a faithful member of Erin Church of the Nazarene. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Jo Ann Norfleet Meacham; son, Kerry Joseph (Sheila) Meacham; granddaughter, Rachael (Troy) Clark; great-grandson, Alex Joe Clark; and step-grandchildren, Mary and Annabelle Clark.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Carter, Glenn Byrd, Bret Alsobrooks, Jason Gillespie, Dick Littleton, Tommy Mitchell, Terry Bruce and Scott Lyle. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Twin Lakes Bass Club.
