Joseph Anthony Gannon, age 82, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 while at Alive Hospice, Madison.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Full Military Honors will be rendered.
The Gannon family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Additionally, a Prayer Vigil with Rosary will be held beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday evening.
Joseph entered into this life on July 15, 1935 in New York City to John Francis Gannon and Mary Tannian Gannon. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had served with the 101st Airborne Division, 187th Infantry Regiment. Also, Joseph was an officer in the Tennessee National Guard, retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell, and a licensed land surveyor.
Joseph was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He also was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a Sunday School teacher for more than 20 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Gloria Gannon; sons, John Michael Gannon (Susan) and Joseph Thomas Gannon (Sherry); grandchildren, John, Rachel, Lily, and Elise Gannon; and brother, Eugene Gannon.
Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.
