John "Rooster" Tyson

John Franklin “Rooster” Tyson, age 74 of Indian Mound, TN, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at his residence. 

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2025 at Hopewell Community Church with Bro. Wayne Jackson and Bro. Brian Grasty officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. 

 The Tyson family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church, and again from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at noon. 

 Rooster entered this life on October 10, 1950 in Clarksville, TN, son to the late Frank Tyson and Dorothy Nell Lee Tyson. Rooster worked for many years as a talented dozer operator; something that he took much pride in. However, his true passion in life was his family; he will be greatly missed. 

 In addition to his parents, Rooster was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Tyson; and sister, Tracie Newman. 

 Survivors include his loving wife, Ellen Ranee Tyson; children, Nikkie (Frank) Hanna, James (Tracey) Tyson, Travis (Morgan) Tyson; sibling Phyllis Walls, Teresa Myers (Nick), Scotty Tyson; along with numerous grandchildren. 

 Serving as pallbearers will be Ted Rorie, Stacey Grizzard, Noel Tyson, Terry Lee, Brian Grasty, and Billy Tyson.
