John James Stevenson, Jr., age 96, of Clarksville, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Walking Horse Meadows.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Bunger officiating. Burial will follow at Kennedy Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
John was born on October 12, 1918 in Christian County, KY, the son of John James Stevenson Sr. and Nancy McCuddy Stevenson. He was a retired farmer, a Methodist, and a member of St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Additionally, John was the great-great-great grandson of Elder Reuben Ross, founding Pastor of Spring Creek Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Belle Stevenson.
John is survived by his son, John Overton Stevenson and wife Donna; sister, Jessie Ross Stevenson; nephew, Macon Marshall; niece, Joan Thomas and husband John.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
