John Marshall Mitchell, 78 of Erin, TN, entered heaven on July 20, 2017.
A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Medders and Bro William Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Lowery Cemetery.
The Mitchell family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service Sunday afternoon.
John entered this life on March 20, 1939 in Houston County, TN, to the late Melton Mitchell, and the late Myrtle Schmidt Mitchell. John loved the outdoors and spent most of his time either at work laying brick and block or on his farm.
Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Rye Mitchell; brothers, Oberry Mitchell, Benjamin Mitchell; and sisters, Florence Penrod, and Janet Manners.
John is survived by his sister, Norma Dalton; sons, David Mitchell, Ray (Janice) Mitchell, and Jonathan (Lori) Mitchell. John also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Webb, Joshua Mitchell, Emily Mitchell, Laura Mitchell, Preston Mitchell; great-granddaughter, Addie Webb, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Mitchell, Mike Manners, Kevin Manners, Stacy Manners, Keith Rye, and Paul Rye. Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Mitchell, Wesley Mitchell, Timmy Mitchell, Carlon Mitchell, Randy Ball, and James Hatcher.
