John M. Miller, 93, Clarksville, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at Signature Health Care of Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Steve Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in McEwen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
John was born October 18, 1919 in Humphreys Co., Tennessee, son of the late John M. Miller, Sr. and Isabell Harrison Miller. He retired from L&N Railroad with over 30 years of service. He was also a retired farmer and a member of Hilldale Church of Christ.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred Burns Miller, and his son, Leslie Miller. Survivors include his loving children, Paul Miller and wife Linda of Clarksville, Billy Miller and wife Brenda of Waverly, and Doris Widman of Clarksville; daughter-in-law Carol Miller of Nashville; brothers, Gene Miller of McEwen, TN and Thomas Miller of Michigan; sister, Julia Suggs of McEwen. He was the proud grandfather of Glen Widman, Cindy Jackson, Jeff Widman, Robert Miller, Scott Miller, Renee Harris, Stephen Miller, Patrick Miller and great grandfather of twelve.
John's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Clarksville Christian School, 505 Hwy 76, Clarksville, TN 37043.
