John Lewis

Mr. John Robert Lewis, age 89 of South Gate, MI, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Bush Cemetery.
The Lewis family will receive friends on Sunday Morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
John entered this life on January 28, 1926, son to the late Roy and Julia Lewis. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and was stationed in the Marshall Islands. After his time of service, John went on to work for General Motors where he would later retire. John loved his family, hunting, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Mie Lewis; and son, Robert Wayne Lewis.
Survivors include daughter, Brenda Lewis Slifer, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
