John G. Ford, 84, of Indian Mound, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwayne James officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 12 noon until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
John was born May 10, 1927 in Stewart Co., TN, son of the late John and Mable Gillum Ford. He was a retired mechanic for the Tennessee State Highway Dept. and was a member of Oakwood Free Will Baptist Church.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Mae Ford and his sisters, Marie Mann, Bertie Dennison, Pauline Mullins, and Hauttie Mullins. Survivors include his son, David Ford and his wife Pam of Indian Mound; his daughter, Betty McLean and her husband Jim of Cunningham; grandchildren, Kim Hannah and her husband Richard, Cleve McLean and his wife Samantha, and Casey Jones; great grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, and Carrie Hannah; brother, the Rev. Paul Ford; and sister, Katie Self.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
