John Reid Edmondson, Sr., 69, Clarksville, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Montgomery Care & Rehab. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 a.m. Saturday May 1, 2010 at Faith Chapel First Baptist Church with Revs. Ron Edmondson, Roger Freeman, James Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at First Baptist Church. A Masonic Service will be held 7 p.m. Friday at Funeral Home. John was born March 15, 1941 in Cumberland City, TN son of Benjamin I. and Pauline Browning Edmondson. John was retired from Boilermakers Local #455 and retired Montgomery County Sheriffs Deputy. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a member of First Baptist Church,and Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Queen City Masonic Lodge #761, Past President Scottish Rite Club, Commandry #8 Knights Templar, Clarksville Council #105 Cryptic Masons, Knight of St. Andrew, Past President Ft. Campbell Shrine Club, Super Excellarn Master Council #105, Gideons International, Past President Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #23, Life Member VFW, and member of APSU Governors Club. Other than his parents of Clarksville, he is survived by his wife, Betty Hildebrandt Edmondson, Clarksville; sons, John Reid(Tammy) Edmondson Jr., Clarksville, Ronald(Cheryl) Edmondson, Clarksville; daughter, Wendy(Jeff) Lyon,White House, TN ; brother, Ben I. Edmondson ; sisters, Glenda Hagewood, Georgia Webber, Malinda Johnson; grandchildren,Rebecca, John III, Christopher, Jeremy, Nathaniel,and Austin , one great-grandchild, Makenzie. Pallbearers will be John Hagewood, Brian Hagewood, Greg Hagewood, Jeff Lyon, Jeff Edmondson and John Cullom. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of First Baptist Church Barraca Class.
