John Dillon Baggett

John Dillon “Wacker”, Baggett age 87 of Cumberland Furnace, TN passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. There will be a celebration of Life Service for JD on Sunday, February 23rd at 2:00 pm at McReynolds Nave and Larson Funeral Home, with Bro. James Rickeman officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the hour of service at the Funeral Home. 

He was born in Montgomery County on December 31, 1937, son of the late Dillon and Bertha Dawson Baggett

JD worked and retired at Trane in Clarksville. He was a life-long farmer, fisherman, and loved maintaining his lawn. He and his wife, Laverda Baggett were married for 65 years and raised two children together in Montgomery County. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his dear son, Joey Baggett, as well as brothers; Alzo Baggett, Lonzo Baggett, and William Baggett, sisters; Betty Nelson, Margie Hite, and Opal McDaniel. 

Left to cherish JD’s memory is his wife, Laverda Baggett, daughter; Felecia Olds, daughter in law Angel Baggett, grandchildren; Shelly Perrigo (Chris), and Jasmine Baggett (Austin), great-grandchildren; Wyatt Peairs, Kinlee Perrigo, Koein Neely, and Brynlee Neely. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

 Serving as Pallbearers will be Chris Perrigo, Austin Neely, Dwayne Perrigo, Bruce Self, Anthony Weatherford, and Chris Maille. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
