John Allen

John D. Allen was born on September 15, 1941 in Clarksville, Tennessee to John Q. Allen and Rosa Lee Roach (affectionately known as Ma Polly). He was the second of fourteen children.

He later moved to Chicago, Illinois where he met and married Mable E. Allen. From that union four children were born. John is also the father of three other beautiful children.

John was extremely social and very talented. He enjoyed acting, modeling, singing, hair styling and carpentry. His most memorable talent involved his love of music. He was a DJ and was well known in Chicago as “The Godfather”. He also managed a number of social establishments prior to moving back to Clarksville, Tennessee.

John D. Allen was called home to rest on Saturday, September 9, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents Rosa Lee Mosley and John Q. Allen; his loving Stepfather Eldridge Mosley; his son Darryl Allen; two brothers, Anthony Mosley and Darnell Mosley; and one sister Jessie Mae Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his children John (Kimberly), Denise (Daryl), and Louis (Sheryl) (Born to Mable E. Allen), Kent (Born to Ina Allen), Desmond and Chereka (Born to Barbara Lee); his siblings Margie Halsey, Robert Mosley, James Mosley, Dale Mosley (Jean), Corrine Mosley, Gary Mosley (Vivian), Tekela Mosley, Lavern Mosley, Carnita Brown, and Kent Mosley (Kemberly); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and many many friends.
